15' Lumber Yard Skiff "Miss Mavis"
The owner of this boat did a great job building her from plans. He brought it to us in order to build a custom gunnel cap with combing and an anchor locker which was not included in the original plans. We have used non-rot composites and epoxy to build and bond the cap to the hull. We also gave the boat an Awl-Grip paint job in and out as well as, glassed the deck for a little added insurance. She is rigged up with a Garmin 541S, BlueSeas switch panel, Morse SS throttle, 4 rod holders in the gunnels, and a three drawer tackle cabinet. The 25hp Mercury on the back gets her up to 22mph. We have enjoyed working with the owner on finishing out his build. We can't wait to see it out on the water. She is gorgeous!
Beavertail B2 Skiff
Owner of this lightweight marvel makes his living as a guide here in Wilmington. His skiff has an estimated 8,000 nautical miles on her and she is 4 years old. We flipped her over to mend the all of the oyster bed scars and reinforce the areas where the boat lands on the trailer. She is freshly gel-coated "Sea Foam Green" and ready to get back to fishing. Go to www.DoubleHaulGuideService.com if you want to catch some fish in some super skinny water.

2011 Carolina Skiff 21' DLX
Local dealership has asked us to build gunnels extending from the removable bow cap and removable stern cap. We came up with a design that will stiffen the hull sides and still allow both caps to be removable. The new owner of this boat will have plenty of under gunnel storage and be able to run laps around her without having to step down on her deck.
17' Back Country
We de-rigged the cap, engine and hull connections in order to remove the cap and access the bad fuel tank. We will be replaced the fuel tank with a new custom made tank. We will be replacing the plastic thru-hull fittings with new stainless steel ones and re-locate the trim tab switch to just forward of the full throttle position on the dash. We installed a new Fusion ip600 stereo with remote and speakers. The boat has new LED courtesy lights under the gunnels and underneath the poling platform, along with red LED accent lights under the gunnel. We have sanded and re-gel coated the anchor locker and aft bilge, added a starboard mounting plate to the portside of the console and re-sealed the tank area. We re-foamed the inside of the hull to deaden the hull slap. She also was completed re-wired. This boat is ready for fishing.
21' Seaway
We gave this Alabama fan a "Roll Tide" paint job using Awl-Grip. We painted an Oyster white stripe to the hull to tie in the spray rails. The non-skid on the Armstrong bracket was dark red, and pretty hot to stand on during the summer, so we made it Oyster White with a coarse non-skid texture. The boats' bottom was painted with Interlux Micron CSC black. Custom made registration numbers match the topsides and hull stripe of the boat. To finish her up, we installed a new rub rail. We have enjoyed working on this project and can't wait to see her out on the water.
44' Gulfstar "Altair"
The owners of this motoryacht wanted to give their v-berth a face lift. We fabricated new hull side faces, new anchor locker doors, painted it in high gloss oyster white, made new trim pieces and finished it up with some stainless hardware. We hope the owners enjoy their newly updated V-Berth.
21' Boston Whaler Outrage 2005
The owner wanted to have a livewell installed in his leaning post. This was a factory option when the boat was purchased. We ordered the livewell bucket from Boston Whaler, made a sub-floor for the base of the leaning post, plumbed and laminated the livewell into place, and installed her back into position.
Boston Whaler 28 Outrage
We replaced both 148 gallon tanks with two new tanks custom made and coated in Line-X.. We are also did a good bit of cosmetic work to the gel-coat. In order to access these tanks, we had to remove 80% of the cabinetry in the cabin. The cracked welds in the legs of the top were repaired and made stronger than its original design. We replaced the forward fuel tank bulkhead from within the cabin, as the old one was beginning to rot at the base. This is a great boat and its owner loves taking her off-shore fishing. I know he will be happy when his fuel capacity and range increases back to normal.
Beavertail B2 2006
This boat looks familiar; same boat model as one we have worked on before but a year newer. The owner of this boat is getting the works. We are replacing the QL trim tabs with a new Lenco set-up, installing Fusion IP600 stereo, installing speakers in the forward bulkhead, building speaker boxes on the backside of the forward bulkhead for protection from loose items stored, installed under gunwale LED courtesy lights, fabricated a clamp-on back rest to be attached to the poling platform legs, installed a small center line drain for the forward storage compartment and we are having new cushions made. The poling platform and new back rest were powder coated satin black. We also cleaned up and re-wired some of the wiring after adding a new house battery.
Custom Hardtop
We built this custom hardtop for High Speed Welding. Its done out of divinycell and finished in Awl-Grip. It measures out to 9' x 8' and has a 3" crown. We know their customer in Pennsylvania will enjoy his new hardtop.
19' Intruder
This boat loves to fish. We are fixing the upper control box due to an impact to the helm. The impact caused the glass to crack around the helm. As a result, we had to de-rig the upper helm, bleed the steering and remove the upper control box. We are also filling and fairing a few holes in the console. We serviced the engine and installed a new water pump. She is back in the water fishing every chance she gets.
23' Custom Carolina
This boat was built in the Virginia Beach area specifically for its current owner. Although we would have loved to have built this boat for him, we are more than flattered to be asked to do the repairs. We bottom painted the boat in Petit Vivid light grey . We are repaired some issues concerning the mis-use of poplar in the build and have painted new non-skid on the armstrong bracket. The challenge of the cosmetic repair was the boat being painted in a "non-repairable paint", meaning its not buffable. If you build a small trailer-able boat with anyone make sure they use a repairable paint system.
Grady White 306 CC
We removed the deck caulk surrounding the center console and hatches and re-sealed the deck. This regulatory maintenance can save you a ton of money if its done correctly once every 12 - 16 months. This prevents water from being absorbed into the deck and substrates which causes soft spots in the floor, as well as, fatigues the fiberglass. Along with re-sealing the deck, we also gave her a custom bottom paint job that we call "Squidtopia".

Pioneer 220 Bay Sport (2007)
Installed dual blue "OceanLED" underwater lights and blue LED accent lights underneath the gunwales. It has an incredible sound system with two amps and 6 speakers in the console that was done by "Donat Marine Solutions". We also installed a lockable tackle cabinet hidden behind the back rest in front of the center console. To finish her up, we gave her show room detail and wax.

Mastercraft X-Star
We stripped the fouled up bottom paint and primer and applied Interprotect 2000 to give a solid epoxy barrier coat before applying the new bottom paint. We also had new cushions custom made for the bow seats and for the "sun deck". Installed a new Fusion 600 stereo with 2 wired remotes with the capability of 3 seperate zones for the 6 JBL speakers and hooked up a new Sirius Satellite radio tuner. The prop was reconditioned locally and improved the ride quality significantly. The cosmetic work was fairly easy since this boat has been well taken care of and we only had to repair the gel coat one area at the bow. To finish her up, we gave it a solid detail job to keep her looking new. We don't get many of these boats in the shop, but I was impressed with the build quality of this boat, very solid, very well thought out, and super quick.
22' Catalina (1980)
This boat came to us for bottom paint and to install new hardware for the 550lb. swing keel. We do not get many sailboats but we enjoyed working on this one. Bottom paint jobs are usually pretty simple, until you have to remove a led keel that pivots. We sanded the bottom, the keel and the rudder in order to properly prep it for the new bottom paint. We had to make a mobile brace to hold the 550lb. swing keel up right in order for her to be re-installed safely with the new hardware that allows the keel to pivot. We also built a 3 piece companionway door out of teak veneered marine grade plywood.
The owner of this boat, also owns one of our favorite restaurants' in Wrightsville Beach. Take your family and friends to "South Beach Grill" to enjoy some excellant food, awesome service and a great atmosphere.

2006 Boston Whaler Outrage
The owner of this boat requested a new bow rail and t-top custom made, a new flush mount GPS, and an Awl-Grip paint job. This boat came to us from Michigan to have the work done and we look forward to his reaction once the work is completed. We matched the gel-coat in all previous hardware locations including the dash where the old GPS and its' wire were ran.
21' Carolina Skiff Elite
Installed new Lenco trim tabs with LED auto retract switch, new Minn Kota trolling motor, fabricated a roller block under bow lip, Install bow deck rod holders and base plate for casting pedestal, New LED pop-up Navigation light, upgraded electrical system including custom battery shelving under bow deck, new power distribution panel, battery charging system, and installed tackle cabinet in-front of the center console behind the back rest.
21' Sea Pro
We gave this 21' Sea Pro a brand new exterior paint job using Awl-Grip topcoat and Awl-Grip finish primer. She looks stunning.
Scout 202 SF 1994
Owner found a soft spot in the deck outboard of the stringer and above the fuel tank. We realized by pulling the rod cabinets that the rod holders were draining freely and saturated the foam under the deck. We dug out the saturated foam and relieved the stringers of any retained water. We then re-braced the deck from underneath and will properly drain the rod holders. In the process the core underneath the Center Console had deteriorated and will be re-cored with non-rot composites. High Speed Welding did an awesome job on the leaning post and Salter Custom Canvas made her look new with a custom made cushion set. We also installed a new raw water pump, and fixed some stress cracks with gel-coat. We look forward to seeing her on the water.
27' Hydrographic Survey Vessel
This company came to us to have the boats bottom barrier coated with Interprotect 2000 and bottom painted in a hurry due to an upcoming work order. It was a good bit a work in a short amount of time but this will save the company time and money from having to take her to the boat ramp every day. Thank you McKim and Creed!
Grady White 20' Overnighter
We have re-cored the fuel tank hatch using non-rot composites, installed new anchor locker drain, and installed new Starboard cabin bulkheads since the old ones were rotten.
Bayliner 22 Trophy
Owner is re-powering with newer Inboard/ Outboard, we replaced wood rot in transom, stringers and fuel tank bulkhead with non-rot composites. We sealed up the I/O hole in order to accommodate the newer smaller I/O hole.
19' Sea Hunt
Owners wife wanted to surprise her husband for his birthday. We retrieved the boat from their slip while he was out of town and installed a new power pole before he returned. Great gift idea for the avid fisherman.
14' Custom Skiff
Owner wanted a light weight bench and base fabricated. The base was made for the owners compact center console. Both bench and base are hinged in order to clean and access those areas more easily.
Carolina Skiff 258 DLV
Owner requested a roller block to be fabricated and installed in order to prevent the trailers' roller from catching under the lip and damaging the fiberglass.
18' Hewes Redfisher
Owner ran into a submerged object that cracked the cab and parts of the transom. We will also be filling and fairing major dents below and above the waterline and painting non-skid on the cockpit deck.
